How to Implement AI Starter Paths to Develop Your Employees’ AI Skills

This article introduces the AI Starter Paths and explains how admins and group admins can use  AI Starter Paths feature to develop all employees' AI skills.

What are the AI Starter Paths?

The AI Starter Paths provide on-demand, self-paced learning paths curated to develop essential AI skills for leaders, technical professionals, and business professionals. Our learning architects and subject matter experts have selected high-quality content to ensure the most efficient path to AI skills development. They continually review and evolve the learning paths to meet the changing skilling needs, ensuring that the content remains relevant and up-to-date.

What languages are available for the AI Starter Paths?

Currently,  AI Starter Paths are available in Chinese, English, French, German, Japanese, Korean, Spanish, and Portuguese.

How can I select the language for an AI Starter Path?

Admins can filter the AI Starter Path listings by language. The filter options will show all languages that have a translated AI starter path available.

The system will set the filter to your account language by default; however, if no AI Starter Paths are available in your preferred language the filter will default to English. The system will save any changes you make to the filter for future sessions.

What are AI Starter Paths and how are they different from Pro Paths and those created by my organization?

The AI Starter Paths offer a unique selection of upskilling resources tailored to employees in diverse roles. Termed “starter” paths, they provide organizations with a launchpad for AI upskilling. Unlike organization-created paths or Udemy Pro Paths, these AI Starter Paths cannot be directly enrolled into or assigned to learners. However, admins can quickly copy these paths into their organization and then use them like any other path with full capabilities. Additionally, unlike Udemy Pro paths, which are accessible only to customers who are on the Pro plan, the AI Starter Paths are accessible to all Enterprise Plan customers.

Where can I find the AI Starter Paths in the product?

The AI Starter Paths have a dedicated page under Learning paths ➞ AI Starter Paths. Here, you can easily browse the curated role-based learning paths tailored for AI upskilling.

Who can access the AI Starter Paths page?

Udemy Business admins, group admins, and account owners can view the AI Starter Paths. Admins can use these paths as-is or edit them to align with their organization's unique needs. Once these paths are copied within the organization, they are public and become discoverable and enrollable by all learners.

Who manages these paths?

The AI Starter Paths are curated and maintained by the Udemy team. As AI content evolves, so will these AI Starter Paths.

How to use the AI Starter Paths within my organization?

  1. Admins can browse a list of role-based AI paths from the Learning paths ➞ AI Starter Paths page.
  2. Choose any AI Starter Path to view detailed information about the path, including the courses included and the skills targeted.

  1. To make these paths available to learners within your organization, admins need to copy the desired AI Starter Path to the organization's learning paths. This can be done by selecting “Use AI Starter Path” from the AI Starter Path detail page.
    • Please note:
      • To ensure that your learners can find and enroll in the AI Starter Paths when they are copied into your organization, they are set to public by default.
      • If you plan to duplicate a starter path for multiple users, you’ll need to ensure each title is unique. The system does not permit multiple learning paths with the same title. So, it’s essential to create distinct titles for each additional path.
  2. Once copied, these paths can be edited, made private if required, renamed, and customized to better suit your organizational needs. They can then be enrolled in, assigned, and shared with learners.
  3. After copying an AI Starter Path to your organization, any subsequent changes made by the Udemy team onto the starter path will not affect your copied paths. This ensures that your customized paths remain intact. Organizations can view the “last updated” field within the AI start paths to determine if they are utilizing the most recent version.

We trust that this feature will significantly enhance your ability to manage and administer learning paths focused on AI skills. Happy learning!
