Course creators: How to use the Course Cloner tool

With the Course Cloner tool, custom course creators can create new, targeted courses without modifying their original course. This article provides an overview of how to use the Course Cloner tool.

Access the Course Cloner tool

  1. Navigate to the Courses page by clicking Teach on the top right of the screen.
  2. Select the Course cloning tab.
Course cloning tab

3. Click Clone new courses.

You'll be taken to the Course Cloner workspace.

How to use the Course Cloner tool

1. Select the course to clone content from.

2. From your original course, pick which sections/lectures to include in each new cloned course.

  • You can create up to 5 cloned courses from your original course.
  • Please note: You can add more content to these cloned courses later; but in order to publish a cloned course, 30 minutes of video content per course is still required.

Select courses

3. Add titles and course details, and edit the course curriculum. Then, click Next.

4. You'll be taken to a page to review your cloned courses.

Review your cloned course

Once you have created your cloned courses, each will be created as drafts. After each Draft course has been created, click Go to course to navigate to the full course creation page.

We advise reviewing your cloned course content, course landing page, and all relevant details to confirm that your cloned course is complete.

Once your course meets all requirements and you have finalized your content, you can publish your course.

  • See instructions for publishing custom courses.
