How to View Learning Path Insights

Admins and group admins can view details on users enrolled in a learning path, their progress and if they were assigned or self-enrolled on the Path Insights page.

Accessing Insights for public paths
The Path Insights page for public paths can be accessed by going to Manage > Insights and Reporting > Path Insights, or by selecting ‘View path activity’ from within a Learning Path.

If there is no entry in the ‘Assigned’ column, this indicates that the learner self-enrolled in the path, or they were unassigned the path but have not unenrolled from the path.

Accessing Insights for private paths

If the learning path is private, its Insights can be accessed by going to the learning path directly. Insights for private learning paths are not shown in the Path Insights Dashboard. Additionally, enrollments for private learning paths are not shown under the user enrollments in the Manage Users page.

When is a learner’s data reported?

When a learner is assigned or self-enrolls in a learning path, they will appear on the Path Insights dashboard and in path reporting after the next data refresh. Once they begin watching a course that is part of the path, they will be enrolled in that course and appear on the Course Insights dashboard.

Please note that unassigning a learner from a path does not unenroll the learner from that path, and therefore they will still appear on the Path Insights dashboard and in path reporting. Their data will only be removed if they unenroll from the path from within their account.

How is the learning path progress of a learner calculated?

A learner’s progress is determined by calculating the number of items in the learning path that the learner has completed, versus the total number of items that are included in the path.

For example, if a learning path includes 5 lecture videos and 2 quizzes, then the learner will need to complete 7 items in total to finish the path. If they have completed 3 items, then their progress would be posted as 3 / 7 items completed.

What is the definition of “users enrolled” on the Path insights page?

“Users enrolled” on the Path insights page refers to the number of learners who are currently enrolled in the assigned path. This figure includes users who have unenrolled or are anonymized.

These numbers can be different as “assigned to” refers to an action the admin took - assigning the path. The “users enrolled” is the number of learners currently enrolled.
