Udemy Business Leadership Academy: Description of Services

This article outlines the licenses and corresponding services offered by our Udemy Business Leadership Academy (UBLA). The UBLA is a cohort learning experience, which brings leaders together to foster leadership that cascades through an organization, creating alignment on key business outcomes.

UBLA Program License
  • Access to the UBLA Learning Program(s) listed in the Order Form  
UBLA Cohort Enterprise License Provides access to an unlimited number of learning weeks for a license holder.  Each week includes access to the platform, to the program selected, and to the standard services required to deliver the learning experience.
UBLA Platform Only License Access to the UBLA cohort learning platform for customers to independently build and deliver their own course. The license excludes access to UBLA learning programs and delivery and execution services by Udemy.

 

UBLA Platform Only Services  
UBLA Platform Onboarding Training. Our onboarding program equips customers with platform expertise through three virtual training sessions (Learner 101, Administrator, Analytics), resource guides, recordings, and a hands-on course creation exercise. Customers also complete a two-week cohort design course covering UBLA methodology, design, and sprints, along with a one-week moderation course on facilitation and feedback best practices. Ongoing support includes checkpoints, design guidance, a final prep call, and a post-course review to ensure a smooth and successful launch.
Platform Only Services Additional services available to customers with  platform licenses who have not purchased program licenses. These services may include administrative support services, moderation services, and facilitation of live events. Deliverables will vary based on the services selected.

Project Management Up to 8 weeks of project management to support the planning, coordination, and launch of a Learning Program, including tracking project tasks, assigning responsibilities, monitoring deadlines, and providing regular status updates. Additional number of weeks of project management support beyond the initial 8 weeks included with the base program license as specified in the order form.
Course Moderation Monitoring and facilitation to support participation and engagement during agreed upon number of formal learning weeks and application weeks. This includes monitoring participant participation, facilitating online discussions by initiating conversation prompts, responding to participant queries, and ensuring discussions remain productive, as well as facilitating live events by coordinating the event flow, managing participant interaction, and addressing real-time issues or questions.  N/A
Context Setting Integration of up to three videos, three documents, and three discussion prompts to ensure that the learning materials are relevant for the customer’s context. This includes reviewing provided materials for relevance, aligning them with the learning objectives, and embedding them into the program’s structure to enhance participant engagement.  This additional service includes edits to existing content to align with the specific needs of the customer, the integration of more than the standard 3 videos and 3 documents included in the base program license, and translation of materials as specified in the order form.
Program Administration Services to set up and deliver the UBLA signature programs to learners. This includes cohort configuration, managing cohort launches, providing ongoing support, and generating certificates of completion or digital badges to recognize participants.  N/A
Engagement Impact Report Preparation of a single report and presentation documenting the impact of the learning program. This includes summarizing key metrics such as participant engagement, commitment, advocacy, and understanding. The report may also document changes in skill levels and the outcomes of application experiences as applicable. Deliverables will include a detailed written report and an accompanying presentation. Preparation of an agreed upon number of additional reports and presentations documenting the impact of the learning program.
Instructor Participating in Live Events N/A The instructor for the course will participate with the moderator for a live event. 
Additional Live Event N/A Additional live, virtual event(s) for the cohort, facilitated by a UBLA moderator.
Pacing that Requires Additional Moderation N/A Program pacing that includes non-contiguous formal learning/application weeks and that requires a moderator to monitor continued engagement and respond to learner inquiries.
Additional Program Services N/A Additional services to support the delivery of the learning experience. These services may include, 1:1 coaching sessions, group coaching, and onsite facilitated learning sessions. The scope of the services and associated fees will be negotiated and agreed upon by Udemy and the customer. 

 

Services Definition
Formal Learning Week (5) Five days of learning activities, including  readings, videos, reflections, discussion topics, and exercises.
Application Week (5) Five days of practical application activities  and the live event.
Learning Program A prescribed learning experience drawn from Udemy’s cohort learning (UBLA) course catalog.
UBLA Platform The platform where learners go to access the learning experience. Platform-only customers are also given access to the platform to build, launch and manage their own learning experiences.
Live Event A virtual event moderated by a Udemy moderator and attended by the participants in the learning program. Additional faculty and program sponsors may also be invited to join the live event.
