Will other customers be able to see my course requests?
Yes, course requests that your organization makes on the Course Request Board will be shared anonymously with other customers so that they can vote on your suggestion and may also be shared anonymously with instructors. This is for the purposes of gathering cross-customer demand to inform instructors' course creation decisions. Only the information entered in the Course Request form fields will be visible.
How long does the review take?
We review every course request submission and make a decision on whether it is a strategic opportunity to be shared with instructors within 4 weeks. This is because we are assessing wider demand, industry trends, usage data, and other inputs to identify the most strategic opportunities.
Once the suggestions are passed onto instructors as opportunities, the timeline is less predictable as not all opportunities are selected by an instructor and there is no set time for course creation for instructors.
How is this different from the existing process to suggest a course?
As noted above, the Course Request Board is a means for customers to anonymously suggest and vote on new content ideas. If you are an Enterprise Plan customer and wish to request that an existing Udemy course be added to the Udemy Business collection, please follow the instructions in this Help Center article.
Can I request other types of content, such as course assessments?
Right now we are focusing on capturing demand for new courses only. Our plan is to open this to other types of learning content in the future.
Will courses with the most upvotes be automatically prioritized or made into new courses in Udemy Business?
We want to ensure the opportunities surfaced to our instructors represent the highest priority gaps. Requests with a high number of upvotes will be reviewed for priority curation, but we’ll also consider other signals too, such as customer feedback, learner search and usage data, and industry trends.
How will I know if my request is being made into a course?
We will update your Content Request Dashboard status as your request progresses. If your request has been shared with our instructor community as a content opportunity, you’ll receive a notification. From there, it is up to our community of instructors to select the topics where they have the most expertise to create courses. When the final course is published to the Udemy Business collection, you will receive an email, and the dashboard will be updated. There is no set time for course creation for instructors and not all opportunities are selected.
My course was shared with instructors some time ago, when will it be ready?
In instances where we identify a high-priority request and pass it on to instructors, we cannot guarantee that a completed course will be delivered. Instructors make their own decisions about what courses they want to create. Udemy provides information to our instructor community, but we can’t guarantee what courses they will choose to create.
Why was my request declined?
Unfortunately, not every request can result in a course. For context, we use a number of criteria to determine which requests to pursue, such as strategic impact, breadth of appeal and level of demand. Unfortunately, not all course suggestions meet the criteria to advance.
