There are two ways to upload a file - uploading a file from your system and linking to a file on the web. First, make sure you are on a page where you can upload a file. The file upload portion of the page should look like this:
How to upload a file from your system
1. Depending on the location of the file upload, you may be prompted to provide a name for your file. If prompted, provide a name for your file, keeping in mind that the file name may be visible to other learners and admins viewing the file.
2. Select Upload a File From Your System.
3. Click Add File to Upload and select a file or drag and drop a file from your device to the file upload area.
4. The file will then be automatically scanned to ensure the file is safe to share with others.
5. Optionally add in alt and/or title text to your file, which increases the web accessibility experience for learners with diverse abilities.
6. After the security scan has been completed, click Create, Save, or Update depending on the option shown when uploading.
How to link to a file on the web
1. Depending on the location of the file upload, you may be prompted to provide a name for your file. If prompted, provide a name for your file, keeping in mind that the file name may be visible to other learners and admins viewing the file.
2. Select Link to a File on the Web.
3. Enter the URL where the file is located.
4. Enter the size of the file in KB (e.g. enter 1,000 for a 1MB file).
5. Click Create, Save, or Update depending on the option shown when uploading.
